Experience of Women Project

 

During the 9th grade year in U.S History we are studying the inequality that different groups have suffered in America. In first quarter we studied the inequality that women have experienced and still do experience. After we had learned the inequality that they suffered and how the women have progressed throughout the years, we were given the assignment to create an interactive teaching tool so we could teach other people what we had just learned. I created a website for my teaching tool, other people created pop up books, made games like family fued and jeapordy, and wrote songs.

 

I learned a lot of things about the experience of women during this unit. Before hand I knew that women had to fight for voting rights and big stuff like that, but never really understood all the things that women had to go through, and that their is still inequality today. The quality that I used and struggled with the most in the project was communication. Because the website had to be able to teach people, I had to try and organize it in a way the made sense and was easy to follow. I also had to make sure that everything I said could be interpreted easily and would make sense. Overall I am happy that I did this project and am glad to know that I better understand all the things that woment went through.
