Immigration Project

 

In this project, we interviewed an immigrant who lives in Ohio and recorded it. Then, using the audio from the interview we created a podcast depicting the immigrant's experience. We worked on this project in U.S History, STEM Foundations, and Language Arts. Other parts of this project were: typing a transcription of our interview, writing a few essays on the country of the immigrant we interviewed, and write a creative writing piece from the immigrants perspective. After creating all of that we made a wikispace for the immigrant we interviewed.

 

This project taught me a lot about viewing America, and the world for that matter, in a very different light. It helped me see my country through the eyes of someone who came here looking for a better life. This project also taught me valuable technical skills such as how to edit audio recordings, conduct a professional interview, and transcribe an inteview for accurate records.
